Our Vision
PERSEREC’s applied research and development activities are directed to achieving the following goals for DoD:
- An efficient and cost-effective security clearance program that delivers fair, equitable, and timely decisions regarding the granting of clearances for access to classified information and other national security assets.
- A personnel security system incorporating risk-management principles that maximizes the use of information technology and databases to expedite investigative and adjudicative processes.
- An administrative process for the Defense Personnel Security Program that minimizes labor-intensive tasks, reduces burdens on clearance holders and applicants, and promotes greater levels of reciprocity across Federal agencies.
- A trusted population of military, civilian, and industrial employees who are motivated and fully aware of their security responsibilities and of foreign intelligence threats that could impact their lives, work, or combat mission.
- A highly competent and career-oriented cadre of security professionals whose members have been fully trained for specialist and multidisciplinary tasks as determined by skill standards for the positions they hold.
