NSPS - Preparing for NSPS

Preparing for NSPS

Four things you should do to prepare for NSPS:

1.  Keep up to date on NSPS information. Periodically check this Web site and the DoD NSPS Web site, http://www.cpms.osd.mil/nsps/index.html, as it is continuously updated with latest NSPS news; attend town hall meetings and brownbag sessions that are scheduled in your area.

2.  Talk to your supervisor about what your organizational strategic goals are and how your position supports those goals. This information will better enable you and your supervisor to set meaningful performance objectives once NSPS is implemented.

3.  Take the NSPS 101 Online Training

This comprehensive training was developed to walk employees through how things will work under the new system.  The training covers topics, such as:

  • Conversion to NSPS
  • Performance Management
  • Compensation
  • Merit Promotion
  • Workforce Shaping
  • Self Assessment

Please visit http://www.cpms.osd.mil/nsps/nsps101/nsps/index.htm to launch the NSPS 101 Course.

4. Attend NSPS formal training sessions as they are offered. For more information, see Training.
