Jeffrey R. Register


Director, DHRA


Jeffrey R. Register, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Director, Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), reporting to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)). In this capacity, he has direct oversight for all operational activities across theField Activity's mission areas. Mr. Register is responsible for DHRA enterprise-wide planning, programming, resource analysis, operational policy, and operational execution for the following DHRA Centers and Offices::

Michael V. Sorrento


Deputy Director, DHRA


Mr. Michael Sorrento, a member of the Senior Executive Service, currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA) in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD(P&R)). As the Deputy Director, Mr. Sorrento serves as principal advisor to the Director in overseeing and coordinating the work of the Field Activity responsible for maintaining comprehensive personnel database repositories, administration of personnel policies, and management of DoD-wide education, outreach, and personnel support programs.

Daniel J. Hester

Director, DCPAS

Mr. Daniel Hester, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Director, Defense Civilian Personnel Advisory Service (DCPAS), Defense Human Resources Activity, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. His responsibilities include the development and oversight of civilian human resource plans, policies, and programs for more than 950,000 Department of Defense employees worldwide. Mr. Hester's portfolio spans the full spectrum of Human Capital Management, to include workforce planning, talent acquisition and management, development and sustainment, performance management, labor and employee relations, and leader development.

Sam Yousefzadeh

Director, DMDC


Mr. Sam Yousef, a member of the Senior Executive Service, currently serves as the Director of the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), an operational support organization reporting to the Director, Defense Human Resources Activity in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. DMDC is the leading identity management provider for the Department of Defense and maintains a central repository of over 50 million records for military, civilian, retirees, family members, and selected contractors in order to authorize benefits and entitlements.

Mark S. Breckenridge

Director, DPAC

Mark Breckenridge serves two roles as the Director of the Defense Personnel Analytics Center (established October 2021), and as the Directorate Director of the Office of People Analytics directorate within DPAC. DPAC is DoD's premier center for advanced analysis, providing actionable decision support for the Total Force, families, and veterans, through the collection and application of data and analytical research. DPAC provides effective, evidence-based solutions for Total Force management in support of the warfighter and leads the Department in providing innovative, cost-effective data solutions as well as actuarial expertise in on all matter relating to military compensation and benefits.

M. Alex Baird

Director, DSSC

Mr. M. Alex Baird, a member of the Senior Executive Service, serves as the Director for the Defense Support Services Center, part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. As Director, Mr. Baird ensures critical support services are provided to the Department’s military and civilian personnel that enhance national security, mission readiness, resiliency and reintegration. Mr. Baird oversees following mission areas: Advanced Distributed Learning Program; Combating Trafficking in Persons Program Management Office; Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program; Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support; Defense Language & National Security Education Office; Defense Travel Management Office; Disability Programs Directorate; Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve; Federal Voting Assistance Program; Investigations and Resolutions Directorate; and the Military-Civilian Transition Office (Transition Assistance Program, Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, SkillBridge).

Dr. Liz Clark

Director, DSPO


Dr. Liz Clark is the Director of the Defense Suicide Prevention Office (DSPO) in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. In this position, she is responsible for policy, oversight, and advocacy of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) suicide prevention programs, which include suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention efforts including policy, program development and evaluation, data surveillance, research, and outreach and engagement in support of more than 2M Service members and over 2.5M military family members worldwide.

Dr. Nathan Galbreath

Acting Director, SAPRO

Dr. Nate Galbreath is the Acting Director for the Department of Defense Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO). In this position, he is the Department's expert for prevention and response programs and their relationship to behavioral health, forensic science, criminal investigation, and sex offender assessment and treatment. The Department selected Dr. Galbreath in December 2016 to be a senior executive and fill the role of Deputy. He served in this role until spring 2021, when he assumed the duties of Acting Director.
