Membership OverviewCommittee members are appointed by the Secretary of Defense and must possess expertise appropriate for the work of the DAC-PSM. The Committee's membership is made up of individuals experienced in the implementation of sexual assault prevention efforts in institutions of higher education, public health, and academic research, as well as other individuals considered appropriate by the Secretary. The Committee is allowed a maximum of 20 members.
The Committee charter requires that the DAC-PSM include at least one member with expertise in each of the following areas:
- Prevention of sexual assault and behaviors on the sexual assault continuum of harm
- Adverse behaviors, including the prevention of suicide and the prevention of substance abuse
- Change of culture of large organizations
- Implementation science
The DAC-PSM has
two established subcommittees, which are allowed up to 10 members each.
