Subcontracting Opportunities

Statutory requirements state that a contractor who receives a contract for more than the simplified acquisition threshold must agree that small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, veteran-owned small business, women-owned small business, HUBZone small business, and disadvantaged small business concerns will have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate in contract performance consistent with its efficient performance.

The SBO reviews all subcontracting plans in excess of $650,000 to assure the contracting officer that maximum practicable opportunity will be provided in contract performance. The assigned contracting officer has final approval on the subcontracting plan.
